THE FIRST TEE OF Greater St. Louis IS SEEKING SUPPORT FOR THE FOLLOWING:
- Additional Programming Locations: Increasing the opportunity for young people to experience positive social interaction with their peers in safe places surrounded by caring adults will have positive outcomes within our communities.
- The First Tee National School Program: The First Tee of Greater St. Louis is currently impacting almost 25,000 youth each year through The National School Program where we train PE teachers to use The First Tee curriculum in their schools. This school program creates an environment where young people are introduced to a lifelong sport while learning the basic golf motor skills and the inherent values of the game.
- The First Tee DRIVE Program: The First Tee of Greater St. Louis would like to introduce a program for youth development professionals working with children enrolled in After School programs. This program will introduce the game of golf through traditional sport modification by incorporating the four basic golf shots: putt, chip, pitch, and full swing.
I have 2 daughters that have been involved with the program since shortly after its inception. They have learned about respecting a playing field, good sportsmanship, perseverance and patience to name a few things. My girls got an opportunity to make some new friends and experience some things they may not have a chance to.
Both of my daughters applied for different leadership programs and were chosen nationally to represent The First Tee of Greater St. Louis. My oldest daughter got to go to San Diego and connect with other young golfers from The First Tee programs. My youngest daughter journeyed to Minnesota for her experience. They had an awesome time.
